Sage Taping Policy - Updated April 2003
If you're reading this, you must be a taper! Good for you! Sage encourages anyone who would like to tape at live shows to do so. You may duplicate, trade, share, and all of that other good stuff, but under no circumstances are those live recordings to be bought, sold, or traded for anything other than the price of blank media. Sage also encourages the sharing of our files on filesharing services such as Furthurnet, Morpheus, Napster, Gnutella, Bearshare, Audiogalaxy, Winmx, ETree, and Kazaa. IMPORTANT: under no circumstances are official studio recordings (such as our self-titled debut album) to be shared, traded, or duplicated.
Sage is in general agreement with the tape trading policies of The Grateful Dead: No commercial gain may be sought by websites offering digital files of our music, whether through advertising, exploiting databases compiled from their traffic, or any other means. All participants in such digital exchange acknowledge and respect the copyrights of the performers, writers and publishers of the music. This notice should be clearly posted on all sites engaged in this activity. We reserve the ability to withdraw our sanction of non-commercial digital music should circumstances arise that compromise our ability to protect and steward the integrity of our work.
